Hi! I am Hope Johnston. I grew up on Hilton Head Island. I graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Currently, I am attending the Citadel for a Masters in Counseling in Education to become an Elementary School Counselor. I love working with children and being able to teach them!
Prior to Crescent Childcare Center, I worked as a teacher assistant at a preschool, a nanny, and a shift supervisor at Starbucks. In my spare time, I love to be around my husband, puppy, my friends, and my family! I love to go to the beach, to parks, and just to be around people! I look forward to meeting all of you and to help your child's imagination develop!
Hello! My name is Kasey Cantrell. I am from Shreveport, Louisiana. My family and I recently moved to Charleston. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 17 years. We have three beautiful children ages 19, 13 and 10.
My passion is working with children, helping them learn and to grow. I am a certified teacher. I've worked with infants and children up to 12 years of age and I have worked in childcare for over 8 years. I am CPR certified and have taken many courses in child development.
In my free time, I enjoy taking a walk on the beach, collecting shells, and spending quality time with my family. I am so excited to help your child in their development in fun and educational activities through play.
My name is Linda Polia, I was born and raised in the Boston area where my husband and I have raised 4 children before moving to Charleston in 2017. I have been a certified infant, toddler and preschool teacher for 15 years working in a private preschool as well as taking many courses in a variety of topics such as special needs and brain development in infants and toddlers.
I enjoy watching children explore, discover and learn from their surroundings. I love to be outdoors so in my spare time you can find me at the beach reading a book or taking a long walk.
My name is Amy Kinard. I was raised in South Carolina and have lived in Charleston for the past 30 years. I attended USC and New England School of Photography. I am a mother of two children and once they were in elementary school I realized how much I missed babies at a time when I was ready to go back to work. I decided to marry the two and I opened my home day care in 2007. I mostly worked with children 6 weeks to two years old.
I love the infant months when children are exploring their independence and developing their personalities. I am thrilled to be a part of your baby's growth and development and helping them to navigate their world.
Besides my job, I love traveling, spending time with my family and British literature.
Before the birth of my boys, and the first few years of my first two sons' lives, I worked my way up the corporate ladder in Los Angeles. Immediately after my 3rd son's birth, I knew I needed to be home with them. I quit my career and started my home day care. I had my day care for 9 years, until my 4 boys were in school full time. I then closed it, so I could then help in my boys' classrooms and work for the school.
After my children were out of elementary school I decided to get back into the working world. I started my own successful business, employing 8 working mothers. I let them work around their childrens' school schedules, as that is exactly what I wanted for myself many years before, and couldn't find the childcare I needed for my schedule.
I am eagerly anticipating the challenge of being an intricate part of your children's future. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing their little faces when they are learning something new. I am also looking forward to meeting the parents of all the children, and develop a close relationship with each of you.
